Our story

Bringing Pure Kienyeji home.

Pure Kienyeji. Grown for you.

For generations, Kienyeji was simply… chicken. Slow-grown and free to roam, raised the way our grandmothers did — full of flavour, full of life. Then the world got in a hurry, and the real thing quietly slipped away, replaced by birds bred for speed.

At Swiggo, we’re bringing it home. We raise Pure Kienyeji — never crossed, never rushed, never factory. We choose patience over profit, because some things are worth the wait. Every bird is grown for you, every batch cared for, from our farm to your family.

Slow-grown the way our grandmothers raised them — never crossed, never rushed, never factory.

Pure indigenous Kienyeji

Never crossed, never rushed, never factory.

Every bird accounted for

Every batch cared for, from our farm to your family.

Patience over profit

Some things are worth the wait.

Grown for you

Slow-grown the way our grandmothers raised them.

A note from the founder

Let’s bring back Kienyeji

“Real Kienyeji quietly disappeared from our plates. That's what we're here to fix.”
Nick MwendwaFounder & CEO, Swiggo

Karibu, and welcome to Swiggo.

I'm Nick, the founder. I want to tell you why Swiggo exists — and to ask you to be part of it.

Somewhere along the way, real Kienyeji quietly disappeared from our plates. The chicken our grandparents kept — the kind with actual flavour, raised with time and care — got crowded out. “Kienyeji” became a sticker on a shelf instead of a promise, and most of what's sold under that name today simply isn't the real thing.

That's what we're here to fix. At Swiggo we raise Pure Kienyeji the honest way — no shortcuts. The birds get the room, the time and the feed to grow into what they're meant to be. It costs more and takes longer to do right, but you taste the difference, and so does your family.

This is bigger than one farm. It's a movement to bring real Kienyeji back — to our tables, our markets, and farms across the country. And it only works if we build it together.

So here's my ask: join the movement. Stay with us as we grow. Tell someone who misses the taste of real chicken. When we open for orders around October 2026, be first in line. Every person who chooses real Kienyeji over a shortcut is part of bringing it back.

I'll write now and then — honestly — about how the birds are doing, what we're learning, and how you can be part of the story.

Thank you for being here. Let's bring back Kienyeji, together.
